Auto Europa Car Rental at Basel
Auto Europa Basel Airport
Basel-Mulhouse Airport is located in the commune of Saint-Louis, France, and approximately 22km, or 14 miles from Mulhouse. It is also about 6km, or 3.7 miles from Basel, Switzerland, and therefore has a very unique and important location. Although located in France, it is also a Swiss Airport, directly connected to Basel by a customs road, which provides access to the airport without the need for border control proceedings. The airport is otherwise known as the EuroAirport, and has three IATA codes – BSL, MLH and EAP, which is its international code. Arriving passengers can rent a car from Auto Europa Basel-Mulhouse Airport, or one of the other car rental companies, but Auto Europa has many years of experience in the industry, and offers their customers a wide variety of vehicles.
Basel-Mulhouse Airport is divided into a French side and a Swiss side, and passengers will find a variety of facilities on both sides of the airport. There are banking and currency exchange options, cash machines, business meeting rooms, shops and restaurants, Wi-Fi connections and plenty of other services to ensure the comfort of all passengers. On Level 3 of the terminal is the departure area, as well as the border crossing point where all customers of the airport can cross from one side to the other, and on Level 2, there is the arrival area. On this level, the car hire companies have their rental counters, and most have offices in both the French and Swiss airport sectors. Auto Europa is available at this airport for the most part of the day and early night, seven days a week, and is therefore convenient for all arrival flights at the airport. Their rented cars are parked next to the terminal as well.
From the Basel-Mulhouse Airport car rental companies a selection of vehicles and rental rates are available, however, cars and rental terms and conditions will be different for each side of the airport. In France, Auto Europa’s vehicles are similar to the Renault Twingo, VW Polo, Opel Corsa, Renault Clio and Citroen C3 in the Economy category, and to the Volkswagen Golf and Renault Megane in the Compact category. A few of these vehicles use diesel, and customers should therefore be careful to ensure that they know which type of fuel to use for their rented car. Additional costs will be added to the rental contract if the engine needs to be cleaned. Other popular cars for hire from Auto Europa, in France, include the Ford Focus and Fiat Punto, and larger cars may be similar to the Ford Mondeo, Volvo S60, Opel Zafira, Citroen C5 and the Renault Espace Minivan, for seven passengers. One of the largest vehicles available is the Renault Traffic, for nine travellers.
On the Swiss side of Basel-Mulhouse Airport, customers of Auto Europa will find the Skoda Fabia, Ford Ka, Ford Fiesta, Seat Ibiza, Kia Picanto, Volkswagen Polo Hatch and the Opel Meriva in the vehicle categories of Mini, Economy and Compact, and the Ford C Max, Toyota Avensis, Ford Grand C Max, Volkswagen Golf Wagon and the Volkswagen Passat Wagon can be hired as larger sized vehicles that are ideal for family rentals. Wagons generally offer more room for luggage than a sedan model. The largest van available from the Swiss side will be similar to the Volkswagen Caravelle, for nine passengers. Most vehicles can be arranged as an Auto Europa one way hire, and returned to a different rental location. Cars may be driven to all areas in France and Switzerland, and to many other European countries as well. From Basel-Mulhouse Airport, one way hires may need to be reserved in advance, and it is best to confirm with Auto Europa if they will have additional charges.
Basel-Mulhouse Airport car hire companies have various rental quotes on offer, some all-inclusive and some not. However, from Auto Europa, basic and all-inclusive rental rates may be available, and customers can choose which rate would suit them best. The basic rate covers VAT, mandatory public liability insurance and fire insurance, while the all-inclusive rate covers the same as the basic rate, as well as optional collision damage waiver and optional theft protection. All vehicles, except for a few luxury cars and convertibles, are hired with unlimited mileage as well. When hiring a car, it is recommended to arrange adequate insurance for the vehicle, and to find out if any other costs are not included in the original quote.
All Swiss and French airports are well equipped for the arrival of disabled passengers, with a variety of facilities to ensure their comfort. They have pavement ramps for easy access to the terminal entrance, reserved car parking spaces, elevators, suitable toilet facilities and lowered payphones and information counters. The car hire companies also offer various services for disabled persons, and Auto Europa hand controls may be available from Basel-Mulhouse Airport. Hand controls operate the brake and accelerator pedals of automatic vehicles, and may include a steering wheel knob. They are also free of charge, but require an advanced reservation. Equipment available for hire from Auto Europa includes child seats and satellite navigation systems as well.
