Avis Car Rental at Toulon
Avis Toulon Airport
Toulon Airport is located approximately 23km from the city of Toulon, and is just 3km from Hyères, along the southern coastline of France. It is therefore commonly referred to as the Toulon-Hyères Airport, or even as the Hyères Le Palyvestre Airport, and serves all towns and cities in the Var department of the country, as well as areas from neighbouring departments. The airport has a terminal building which is well equipped for arriving and departing passengers, and a few transport options are available. Passengers may also rent a car, from one of the Toulon Airport car hire companies, such as Avis. Avis specialises in vehicles for business and leisure customers, and has thousands of car rental locations around the world.
Toulon Airport (TLN) consists of a single terminal building, with the arrivals hall on the ground floor and the departure facilities on the upper level. Within the terminal are ATMs, a VIP lounge, meeting rooms, shops and restaurants as well as tourist information counters. Avis Toulon Airport have their rental counters just outside of the terminal building, and are open at the following hours: Monday to Friday – 08:00 to 12:00 and from 14:30 to 22:15, Saturdays – 11:15 to 12:30 and from 15:00 to 20:30 and on Sundays from 15:00 to 22:!5. From Avis, it is recommended to make an advanced reservation, as car hire can sometimes be in high demand at airport locations. Your ideal car may therefore not be available upon your arrival. An earlier booking often results in lower rental rates as well. Online is the most convenient way to rent a car.
The Toulon Airport car rental companies, which also include Hertz, Budget, National, Sixt and Europcar, all have their own set of rental terms and conditions which need to be followed. Customers of Avis will need to be 21 years of age or older, or 25 years of age or older for the following car groups: E (Fullsize), F (Standard), G (Convertible), M, N and O (Vans). Drivers younger than 25 will also pay higher rental rates for young drivers insurance. Young driver fees at Avis amount to 25.00 Euro per day, per underage driver, up until a maximum amount of 250.00 Euro (ten rental days). All drivers registered on the rental agreement will need to show a valid drivers license (in person) upon collection of the vehicle. Avis will accept most local licenses, provided that they are printed in a Roman alphabet. Alternatively, a foreign licence, accompanied by an International Driving Permit, will be accepted. For payment of the rented car, Avis will take Avis Charge Cards, American Express, Diners Club, Eurocard/Mastercard and Visa, apart from Kyriel, Maestro, Indigo and Electron.
Avis one way hires are an excellent option for customers travelling more extensively, and for those who prefer not to return to Toulon Airport. One way hire services are available for the majority of vehicles, and their price will depend on the length of the rental and the return destination of the vehicle. Cross-border rentals can be arranged as well, however, Avis vehicles may not be driven to Greece, Turkey, Eastern Europe, Commonwealth of Independent States and Baltic States. Customers may drive in the United Kingdom, or on the islands of Corsica and Sardinia, provided that the vehicle is returned to the mainland. It is wise to arrange insurance for your rented car. If you don’t have sufficient coverage from your credit card company, insurance can be purchased locally from Avis, Toulon Airport, in order to reduce, or even remove the insurance excess.
A wide range of vehicles are available for hire from the Toulon Airport car rental companies, and they are all of very high quality. All Avis vehicles are only of the latest models, and are regularly cleaned and checked for safety. Smaller cars usually equal lower rental rates, and the Renault Twingo is one of Avis’ smaller models. This car is found in the Subcompact category, and features three doors and a manual transmission. Slightly larger are the cars in the Economy and Compact vehicle categories, for example, the Opel Corsa, Citroen C3 and Peugeot 308. Economy cars are generally very well priced, and are considered to be light on fuel and eco-friendly. Many families however, require a car with more luggage room, and therefore choose the Intermediate, Standard or even Van categories. Larger vehicle models are similar to the Citroen C5, Renault Scenic, Mercedes Class C and the Citroen Grand Picasso C4 for seven passengers. Avis’ vans are able to accommodate between seven and nine people. The majority of vehicles hired have a manual transmission, and come with features such as air conditioning.
Passengers arriving at Toulon Airport may need extra items of equipment for their rented car, therefore, Avis hires child seats, satellite navigation systems and luggage racks as well. These items will cost a few extra Euro per rental, and should be booked early. Remember to specify the age of your child so that the correct size of seat can be reserved. Avis hand controls for disabled drivers could also be available from Toulon Airport. Hand controls are ideal for persons with a lower limb disability, and may include a steering wheel knob. They are also free of charge, but will require an advanced reservation.
Customers who are fond of renting from Avis can become a member of the Avis Preferred Club, and enjoy additional benefits and discounts each time a vehicle is required. Find out more details from Avis, Toulon Airport.
