Auto Europa Car Rental at Brest Lesquin Airport

Brest Airport is one of the France Airports which are important for tourism and development for the area in which it is situated, and handles around 900,000 passengers per annum. It serves the city of Brest, along the country’s north-western coastline, as well as many other areas within the Finistère department. The airport was formerly known as the Brest-Guipavas Airport, due to its location in the commune of Guipavas, but is now officially the Brest Bretagne Airport, and is recognised by its code of BES. For transport, there are buses and taxis, but a rented car from Auto Europa Brest Airport is a much more convenient option. Auto Europa offers very reasonable car rental rates, and is known as a leader in the industry.

Brest Airport welcomes its passengers with a brand new terminal building which took four years to construct, and was finally completed at the end of 2007. The building has three levels, with separate arrival and departure areas, and is capable of handling between 1.4 and 1.9 million passengers every year. Some of the new features include an immense glass bay window that overlooks the runway, additional space for conference facilities and a larger area for restaurants and retail outlets. There are also two footbridges that connect the boarding zones to the medium and larger sized aircrafts. Auto Europa, as well as all the other Brest Airport car hire companies, can be found in the arrival area of the airport, and is open at the following times:  Monday to Friday – 08:00 to 13:00, 13:30 to 18:45 and from 19:45 to 23:00, and on Saturday from 08:00 to 14:30. Auto Europa at Brest Airport is closed on Sundays.

Auto Europa is referred to as the leading provider of car rental services at over 8,000 locations in 130 countries, and they have been in existence since 1954. There are therefore Auto Europa offices at all major European airports. Passengers arriving at Brest Airport will find their car rental rates to be reasonable, and can select a quote which is all-inclusive or basic. A basic rate from Auto Europa covers the costs of mandatory public liability insurance, fire insurance and VAT, while the all-inclusive rate covers optional collision damage waiver, optional theft protection, VAT and the other insurances mentioned for the basic rate. Customers renting a vehicle are recommended to arrange sufficient insurance for their vehicle, and it is best to reserve a car in advance, in order to secure the best rental rates. Auto Europa’s vehicles, apart from certain convertibles and luxury cars, are offered with unlimited mileage as well.

Smaller cars for hire from the Brest Airport car rental companies usually come with cheaper rental rates, and from Auto Europa, are similar to the Volkswagen Golf, with room for four passengers and a couple of luggage items. Larger vehicles are generally more expensive, but are a better option if you need more space within your vehicle. The Renault Megane Scenic is a nice larger car from Auto Europa, with room for five passengers. Other vehicles available are similar to the Renault Megane and the Renault Laguna. Auto Europa’s vehicles may include some nice features, such as air conditioning, power steering and cruise control.

The primary renter of a vehicle from Auto Europa will need to be at least 21 years of age, and must be able to show a valid drivers license upon collection of the vehicle. The license must have been held in the renter’s country of residence for at least a year prior to the rental date. However, although the minimum age is 21, drivers aged 21 to 24 will pay for young drivers insurance, which is an extra few Euros added to each day of car hire for each underage driver listed on the contract, up until a maximum of ten rental days. Furthermore, a major credit card, for example, American Express, Diners Club, Mastercard or Visa will be required for payment, as cash and debit cards are not accepted.

Passengers who do not wish to return to Brest Airport can arrange an Auto Europa one way hire, and deliver their vehicle to a different rental location. Rented cars may be driven to all areas within the country of France, or to most other European countries. From Brest Airport, one way hires returned to a location in France will not usually incur any additional costs. Available from Auto Europa as well, are various items of optional equipment for hire, including child seats, booster seats and satellite navigation systems. Child seats are for children up to the age of 3, while booster seats are more suitable for children aged 3 to 7. Auto Europa hand controls can be requested by a disabled driver, and this is a device which operates the brake and accelerator pedals of certain automatic vehicles. It may also include a steering wheel knob for additional assistance. From the car hire companies at Brest Airport, hand controls are offered free of charge.

Driving to all locations in France from Brest Airport in your rented car is easily possible, as the country has an excellent road network. The airport road is the D167, and this road provides a connection to the N12. The N12 can take you west into Brest city, or east, to areas such as Landerneau, Morlaix, Saint-Brieuc and Rennes. Another road leading to Rennes is the N164, while the N165 travels south to Quimper, Lorient, Vannes and Nantes.
