Budget Brest Lesquin Airport

Brest Airport is located approximately 10.2km, or 6.4 miles northeast of Brest city centre, and is a French airport of medium size, as it handles around 900,000 passengers per year. It is found in the commune of Guipavas, in the Finistère department of France, and is particularly nearby the areas of Gouesnou, Kervao, Saint-Tudon, Baralan and Kereller. Air France, Flybe, Ryanair, EasyJet and Vueling are some of the main airline companies present at the airport, and flights are offered to various other French destinations, as well as to Barcelona, Birmingham and Manchester. The Brest Airport car hire companies include Budget, a company well known for their ‘budget’ car rental rates, as well as for their vehicles of high quality.

Brest Airport, with the official code of BES, consists of a single terminal building with three levels. This is a new building, completed in December 2007, and has considerably increased the airport’s potential capacity. It has also offered more space for retail and restaurant services, business areas and has allowed a higher level of service for its passengers. Budget Brest Airport is found in the arrival area of the building, and is easily accessible on foot from all airport facilities. The company’s hours of operation are as follows:  Monday to Thursday – 08:00 to 18:30, and from 19:30 to 23:00, Friday – 08:00 to 23:00, Saturday – 08:00 to 12:00, and from 14:00 to 18:00, and on Sunday – 11:00 to 14:00 and from 16:00 to 23:00. Budget is open to meet all arrival flights at the airport.

Passengers who have not arranged a Budget one way hire can return their vehicles to Brest Airport, to the same parking area from where the vehicle was collected. An out-of-office hours return may also be possible to arrange. However, if a one way hire is requested, the customer may return the rented car to a different Budget rental location, either within the country of France, or even in another country, such as Spain or Italy. This is also referred to as a cross-border rental. From Brest Airport, one way hires, or cross-border rentals, are allowed to most European cities, including Andora, Belgium, Finland, Norway, Sweden, Germany, Denmark, Holland, Austria, Switzerland and Portugal. Only the car groups of A, B, C and F are allowed to be taken to Italy. Customers may also drive their Budget vehicle in the United Kingdom at no extra charge, provided that the vehicle is returned to the mainland.

The Brest Airport car rental companies all have their own terms and conditions which need to be studied closely before hiring a vehicle, and Budget’s can be viewed on their official website. The primary renter at Budget should meet the minimum age requirement of 21, for the car groups A, B, C, F, L and J, and the minimum age requirement of 25 for all other car categories. All drivers listed on the rental contract should also have held their license for at least two years prior to the rental date, in their country of residence. Although a person of 21 can hire a vehicle, all under the age of 25 will pay higher rental rates, for young drivers insurance. Budget will accept the majority of local driving licenses, provided that they are printed in a Roman alphabet, but in some cases, an International Driving Permit is required. The primary renter will also need a major credit card in his/her own name, and the cards accepted by Budget are as follows:  American Express, Diners Club, MasterCard, Visa and Budget Charge Cards.

In order to secure your ideal hire car at Brest Airport it is recommended to make an advanced reservation. Booking early will also secure the best rental rates. Customers should book additional items of equipment needed for their journey in advance as well, and these items may include a satellite navigation system, luggage racks or a child seat. Budget cannot guarantee their availability should they not be reserved in advance. These items cost a few extra Euros per day of hire, but free of charge are the Budget hand controls used by disabled drivers with a lower limb disability. If on a flight to Brest Airport, hand controls will need to be booked in advance, at least 48 hours prior to your arrival, as the device is only available on certain types of automatic vehicles, and will also need to be fitted to the vehicle.

Budget’s vehicles are all divided into various car groups, and rang from the smaller Ford Ka Titanium to the large Renault Traffic able to seat up to nine travellers, and an excellent choice for groups of friends or larger families. The Ford Ka is found in the Mini 2-door category, and comes with the cheapest car rental rates. It is a good choice for all types of driving, provided that you don’t have too many luggage items. Economy cars are slightly larger, and similar to the Ford Fiesta Trend and Renault Clio, while Compact 4-door cars are also a popular choice for many renters, and include the Opel Astra 1.7 as an example vehicle. Families in need of a more spacious vehicle have the categories of Standard, Intermediate, Fullsize and Intermediate Wagon/Estate from which to choose, including cars similar to the Citroen C5, Renault Megane, Volvo S60 and Renault Grand Scenic.

Vehicles from Budget are all only of the latest models, and are cleaned and checked for safety before every rental. Customers can therefore expect to receive a car that is in excellent condition. All further details are available from Budget, Brest Airport.
