Bordeaux Airport has a variety of car hire companies available in the arrivals area of the single terminal building. Passengers can select their ideal rental vehicle from National Car Rental, or from one of the other car hire agencies, such as Hertz, Budget, Sixt, Easycar and Europcar. The terminal building of Bordeaux Airport is divided into Hall A and Hall B, and these two areas are connected by a covered walkway. The arrival areas of the airport are located on the lower levels, while departures is on the upper levels of the terminal.
National Car Rental at Bordeaux Airport is open during the hours of 07:00 to 23:00, from Monday to Friday, and from 08:00 to 22:30 on Saturdays. On Sundays their hours of operation are from 09:00 to 23:00. Customers can hire a vehicle directly from their rental counters at the airport, or make an advance reservation from their website, at www.nationalcar.com. All the vehicles rented by National are priced, booked and controlled by car category, and customers will choose one of these categories when renting a vehicle, rather than a car by its specific make and model. The indicated capacities of the vehicles in each category should only be used as a general guideline. National offers eleven car categories at Bordeaux Airport, ranging from smaller vehicles in the Economy class to larger vehicles in the categories of SUV and Van. Economy vehicles include the Peugeot 207 1.4, and generally seat two adults and up to three children. Larger vehicles able to accommodate five adults can be hired from the Intermediate category, and these include the Ford Mondeo 1.6 and the Peugeot 3008 1.6.
Wagon type vehicles are available in the categories of Compact Wagon, Standard Wagon and Fullsize Wagon. They are generally able to seat up to five adults, and have space for four or more large sized items of luggage. Examples of vehicles in these categories include the Peugeot 308 1.6, Citroen C5 2.0 and the Mercedes C200 CDI 2.0. Fancier cars can be rented from the Premium Sport category, such as the Peugeot 308RCZ 2.0, and from the Luxury category, such as the Mercedes E250 2.5.
Those passengers who are fond of SUVs will have an excellent choice of vehicles at National, Bordeaux Airport. The example SUVs available can accommodate up to five adults, and have space for two large luggage items and one or two smaller luggage items. They include the Ford Kuga 2.0 and Citroen C-Crosser 2.2. If you need an extra large vehicle, the Van category is ideal, as it has the Citroen C8 2.0 available, which can seat up to seven adults, and the Citroen Jumpy 2.2, seating up to eight passengers.

Additional drivers can also be included in normal rental agreements, and usually cost an extra fee.
National allows one-way rentals, whereby the rented vehicle is collected from one location, but returned to a different National agency. One-way rental vehicles which are returned to a location within the same city are not charged an extra amount for this service. Take note however, that in France Minivans are not available for one-way rentals.
