Alamo Car Rental Paris Orly Airport
Alamo Paris Orly Airport
Paris Orly Airport is the second-largest airport in France, and handles approximately 25 million passengers per year. The largest airport is Charles de Gaulle, with over 58 million passengers per year, and both airports serve the city of Paris. Orly Airport is found to the south of the city, and is nearby many prominent areas for tourists. It provides a very important gateway, and is linked to several major motorways and highways. It is therefore a good option to rent a car from one of the Paris Orly Airport car hire companies, such as Alamo. Alamo is a favourite car rental company amongst leisure customers at thousands of airport locations around the world.
The airport of Paris Orly consists of two terminal buildings, named as the Paris-Orly West and Paris Orly South terminals, and the car hire companies can be located in one or both of the buildings. Alamo is found in both of the terminals, and are therefore a very convenient option for all passengers at the airport. However, passengers who would like to get to another terminal can use the free service of the Orlyval. This is the airport’s automated light rail system that connects the terminals, as well as the terminals to the railway station in Antony. The rental counters of Alamo are found on the arrival levels, and are clearly indicated in French and English. Passengers are advised to make advanced bookings from Alamo Paris Orly Airport.
Alamo’s rental counters are open in the South Terminal from 07:00 to 22:30, during weekdays (Monday to Friday), and from 07:30 to 22:00 over the weekends (Saturdays and Sundays). In the West Terminal building, Alamo accepts reservations, vehicle collections and vehicle returns between the hours 06:00 and 23:59, weekdays, and between 06:30 and 23:30 on weekends. The rented cars should also be returned to the same terminal as from where they were collected, unless arranged as a one way hire. Alamo one way hires are most convenient for passengers with a travel itinerary which does not end once again at Paris Orly Airport. One way hires can even be returned to another country, such as Spain or Italy, which border France. This service may be more expensive than regular car hire if the vehicle is delivered to a further location.
Most Paris Orly Airport car rental companies offer numerous other services for their customers as well, which include the rental of certain items of equipment and hand controls for disabled drivers. Alamo has child seats available for hire, and those who require additional space for their belongings can request luggage racks. A satellite navigation system is also a wonderful piece of equipment to have with you on your journey, especially if you are unfamiliar with the regions of France. Some of Alamo’s vehicle categories even include a GPS unit in their rentals. In the Standard Wagon category, the Citroen C5 2.0 can be hired with a GPS, and the Audi A4 1.9 in the Fullsize category also comes with a GPS system. Other vehicles with this feature include the Mercedes C200 CDI 2.0 (Fullsize Wagon), the Mercedes E250 2.5 (Luxury vehicle) and the Citroen Grand Picasso C4 2.0 found in the Van category.
Vans from Alamo are ideal for a greater number of passengers, as they seat between seven and nine people. The Citroen C8 2.0 seats seven, while the Citroen Jumpy 2.2 can seat eight. Vehicles with an automatic transmission are used for Alamo’s hand controls that can be requested by disabled drivers, and from Paris Orly Airport, hand controls should be reserved in advance. They are also free of charge.
In France, Alamo offers a large fleet of vehicles for hire, and the smaller models are especially popular for their low rental rates and fuel efficiency. Many are also considered as eco-friendly vehicles. In the Economy category, the Peugeot 207 1.4 is a good example of a smaller vehicle. Many of Alamo’s cars have plenty of nice features. Most have air conditioning, power steering and power locks and windows, while many also have driver and passenger airbags, anti-lock brakes, folding rear seats and cruise control.
At Paris Orly Airport, Alamo customers are required to be at least 21 years of age, and should have a valid drivers license that has been held in the driver’s country of residence for at least a year prior to the rental date. However, individuals under the age of 25 will pay a higher rental rate, due to additional young drivers insurance that is added per day of car hire, and certain vehicle categories may not be available for this age group. A major credit card will also be required for payment of the rental period, and all primary renters should arrange adequate insurance for their rented cars. Credit cards generally accepted by Alamo include American Express, Diners Club, Eurocard, Mastercard and Visa.
