Hertz Paris Orly Airport
Paris Orly Airport is located approximately 13km, or 8.1 miles south of central Paris, and is the second-largest airport in France. The largest is Charles de Gaulle, found to the north of Paris. Orly Airport has the official airport code of ORY, and handles over 25 million passengers per annum. This busy airport has many transport options available, but passengers often decide to rather rent a car from one of the Paris Orly Airport car hire companies, such as Hertz. Hertz is the largest provider of car rental services in the world, and offers their customers competitive rental rates at thousands of locations around the globe.
Currently, Hertz has rental counters in the Paris Orly West Terminal building, and no rentals are made from the South Terminal. The Hertz counters are found on the arrivals level at Gate A, and are open from 06:00 to midnight, every day of the week. Passengers who wish to rent a car from Hertz, but are arriving at the South Terminal, can easily transfer to the West Terminal by the Orlyval, the airport’s automated and free light rail system. The journey will only take a few minutes. Passengers can also walk to the terminal via the footpath, which will take approximately five minutes. Vehicles should also be returned to the Orly West Parking P0, adjoining the West Terminal, and not to the South Terminal parking areas. From the parking area, elevators and moving walkways provide access to the check-in areas.
Hertz Paris Orly Airport offers their customers a number of services, which include the rental of child seats and the Hertz NeverLost In-Car Navigation System, as well as hand controls for disabled drivers. The Hertz hand controls are ideal for use by passengers with a lower limb deficiency, as they operate the brake and accelerator pedals of automatic vehicles, and are also free of charge. The device may include a steering wheel knob for additional assistance as well. Orly Airport hand controls should be reserved in advance, as they will need to be fitted to the vehicle. Allow at least 48 hours for your reservation prior to your arrival at the airport. The other items of equipment will cost a few extra Euros per day of rental, but are most useful, and sometimes essential for safe driving in Paris. The Hertz NeverLost system is manufactured by Magellan, and comes with superb features that make finding any destination an easy task.
Some vehicles hired in France, and at the Hertz Paris Orly Airport car rental company, will even include a GPS unit in their rentals. These cars include the Renault Megane Clio SW, which is a car from the Hertz Green Collection, the Renault Grand Espace, BMW X5, Volvo XC90, VW Touareg, the Mercedes Viano and the Mercedes SL, which are all cars found in the Hertz Prestige Collection. The cars mentioned, as well as many others in these collections, can be more specifically reserved by their makes and models, whereas most other cars are only reserved by category. These collections are therefore ideal for passengers who like to know exactly which car they will be driving. The Fun Collection is another group of vehicles which can be more specifically reserved, and includes the Smart For Two, Audi A1, Fiat 500, a variety of Mini Cooper models, the Alfa Romeo Mito and the BMW Series 1 Convertible.
From Hertz, many other vehicles are available as well, including the Peugeot 107, Opel Corsa, Opel Astra, Ford C-Max and Opel Insignia, while families in need of a more spacious vehicle can hire an estate or even a minivan. Some SUVs and Minivans from Hertz are similar to the Peugeot 5008, Citroen C8, Chevrolet Captiva and Opel Vivaro, for up to nine passengers. Hertz one way hires known, as the ‘Rent-It-Here and Leave-It-There’ service may also be available from Paris Orly Airport. One way hires are often very convenient options for passengers who do not wish to drive back to the airport, as they will be leaving from another airport in Paris, or even by train from one of the many railway stations.
