Alamo Car Rental at Strasbourg
Alamo Strasbourg Airport
Strasbourg Airport is located nearby the large city of Strasbourg, in the Alsace region of France, and is a public airport currently with around a million passengers per annum. In the earlier 2000’s the airport even saw over two million passengers every year. The airport has the official code of SXB, and is served by a number of prominent airline companies. Facilities and transportation options are also extensive, and include the car hire companies, for example, the company of Alamo Car Rental. Alamo is used mainly by leisure travellers, and have cars that are ideal for any type of journey in France. Their car rental rates are considered reasonable as well.
Alamo is conveniently found in the arrival area of the terminal building, and passengers can go directly to the rental counters to collect their vehicle once they have passed through the baggage reclaim hall. Alamo is open to meet the majority of arriving passengers, from 07:30 to 22:15 on weekdays, from 09:00 to 12:00 and from 13:00 to 17:15 on Saturdays and from 13:00 to 22:15 on Sundays. Their hours on bank holidays may vary. A rented car from Alamo is recommended to be hired in advance, as the airport can be busy at times, and there may be certain items of equipment you require that are best reserved early. The majority of the car rental companies offer child seats, satellite navigation systems and luggage racks for hire. These items cost a few extra Euro, but are most often worth the additional expense.
Alamo has a wide range of vehicles for hire, the majority of which are arranged into various car categories. All vehicles are therefore hired and priced according to their category, and the customer will not choose a car by its specific make or model. However, if a specific car is requested, Alamo will try to provide it for the customer. When hiring a car, carefully consider your budget, as well as the size of vehicle suitable for your journey. A small car may be uncomfortable for a large number of passengers and their luggage items, but the smaller cars do come with more affordable rental rates. Large cars are more spacious, but are more expensive to hire. There are those in between, which offer some room for passengers and luggage and are also not too pricey. All cars from Alamo have unlimited mileage, and free emergency assistance is provided should the vehicle be in an accident, or if mechanical failure is experienced.
Alamo’s smaller cars are similar to the Peugeot 207 1.4 and the Peugeot 308 1.6, and Midsize vehicles include the Ford Mondeo 1.6 and the Peugeot 3008 1.6. The Ford Mondeo is a car with folding rear seats and a multi-function steering wheel, and all the cars mentioned come with air conditioning, power locks and windows and power steering. They may also have anti-lock brakes and driver and passenger airbags. Another nice-sized sedan is the VW Passat 1.8, with room for five passengers. Some vehicles hired by Alamo include a GPS unit in their rentals. They are found in the categories of Standard Wagon, Fullsize, Fullsize Wagon, Luxury and Van, and are similar to the Citroen C5 2.0, Audi A4 1,9, Mercedes C200 CDI 2.0, Mercedes E250 2.5, Citroen Grand Picasso C4 2.0 and the Citroen C8. One of Alamo’s largest vehicles is the Citroen Jumpy 2.2 for eight passengers, and a popular SUV is the Ford Kuga 2.0.
From Alamo, hand controls for disabled drivers could be requested with certain types of automatic vehicles. This device is used by persons with a lower limb disability, as it operates the main functions of the vehicle, i.e. the brake and accelerator pedals. It does not operate other functions, such as car lights, blinkers or cruise control. Alamo hand controls are free of charge. Although the primary renter is usually expected to drive the vehicle, a person with a disability challenge may still be the primary renter of a vehicle from Alamo, provided that they have an able driver to accompany them and to operate the vehicle. This driver is free of charge as well.
Alamo one way hires can also be arranged which allow the vehicle to be delivered to a different rental location. One way hire services may require an advanced reservation. This type of rental may also be more expensive, but the costs involved will depend on the return location for the vehicle and the length of the rental period.
Alamo’s customers will need to be at least 21 years of age for car hire in France, and will require a valid drivers license and a major credit card, such as American Express, Diners Club, Eurocard, Mastercard or Visa. Customers from the United Kingdom with the new two-part drivers license should have the paper and card portions available, and foreign renters may need to arrange an International Driving Permit before they leave for France. This document serves for translation purposes. Other requirements may include a return airline ticket, a passport or other form of identification other than the drivers license, proof of residential address and other personal details such as telephone numbers. Keep in mind that all drivers younger than 25 will pay additional charges for young drivers insurance. Other types of insurance should also be arranged from Alamo, such as collision damage waiver and theft protection.
