Budget Car Rental Nice Cote D'azur Airport
Budget Nice Airport
Nice Airport is the third largest airport in France, with around ten million passengers per annum, and serves the city of Nice, as well as Monaco, Cannes, Antibes and St Tropez. It is also referred to as the Nice Côte d’Azur Airport, and is found just 7km west of Nice city centre, in the Alpes-Maritimes department of France. The airport has excellent facilities for its passengers, within two terminal buildings, and offers range of ground transport options as well, which include several car hire companies. Budget Nice Airport is available for all customers who seek a quality rented car, and are well known around the world for their ‘budget’ prices.
The two buildings of Nice Airport are named Terminal 1 and Terminal 2, and the car rental counters of Budget can be found in both terminals. On the arrivals level of Terminal 1, Budget is located nearby the information desk, at gates A1/A2, and in Terminal 2, their rental counters are found between gates A2 and A3. They are conveniently located for arriving passengers, and cars can be hired directly over the counters, or in advance, from the various online websites that support Budget vehicle reservations. It is often recommended to make an advanced booking, as cars for hire can be in high demand, especially at busy airport locations such as the Nice Airport. The offices of Budget are available for reservations and vehicle collections seven days a week, between the hours of 06:30 and midnight. There may however be exception hours on certain bank holidays, such as All Saints Day and Christmas.
The rented cars of the Nice Airport car hire companies are parked at the airport, in an area located behind the P5 parking lot. This area is closer to Terminal 2, therefore passengers arriving at Terminal 1 may need the airport shuttle bus in order to reach their vehicle. These buses are free of charge, and link the two terminal buildings and car parking areas. They are also frequently available, every six minutes during the main daytime and early evening hours, and every ten minutes during later hours. From Terminal 2, there is a clearly marked footpath from each exit that leads to the ‘Car Rental Centre’, where the vehicles are parked.
Budget’s vehicles can however be arranged as one way hires, and returned to a different rental location. Nice Airport one way hires are most convenient for passengers who will be leaving France from another airport. Vehicles in the categories of A, B, C and F may also be driven to the country of Italy, and most vehicles can be taken to Spain, Portugal, Sweden, Germany and other European countries. This is referred to as cross border traffic in the terms and conditions of Budget. One way hires will incur no additional costs if the vehicle is returned within the country of France, but an extra charge may be added for those which are returned to further locations.
The terms and conditions of the Nice Airport car rental companies vary, but Budget’s are clearly stated on their website, and are reasonably simple to understand. The primary renter must show a valid drivers license upon collection of the vehicle, and all drivers listed on the agreement, and should have been held for a minimum period of two years prior to the rental date. If it is printed in a non-Roman alphabet, an International Driving Permit may be required. The minimum age required for the car groups of A, B, C, F, L and J is 21, while all drivers must be 25 years of age or older for all other car categories. There will also be an additional charge for drivers younger than 25, known as a young drivers fee. Budget, Nice Airport, will accept the following credit cards for payment of the rental: Budget Charge Cards, Diners Club, MasterCard and Visa. For certain car groups, two major credit cards will be required.
Additional items of equipment for hire may include child seats, luggage racks and satellite navigation systems, as well as Budget hand controls for disabled drivers. Most items will cost a few extra Euro per day of hire, but hand controls are available free of charge. Most other services for disabled drivers and renters are also free of charge at Nice Airport. Hand controls should also be reserved in advance, as they are only available on certain types of automatic vehicles, and will need to be fitted before your arrival. The other items of equipment should be reserved as early as possible as well , as they are subject to availability.
Budget vehicles in France, and at Nice Airport, include the Ford Ka Titanium in the Mini category, and the Ford Fiesta Trend and Renault Clio in the Economy category. These are cars that come with the lowest rental rates, and are light on fuel as well. The Opel Astra 1.7 is another popular rental choice, and the Citroen C5, Renault Megane and Renault Grand Scenic are available as larger vehicles. If in need of more space for passengers, customers can hire the Citroen Grand Picasso from Budget, with room for seven passengers, or even the Renault Traffic, for nine travellers.
