National Nice Airport

Nice Airport is located just 7km, or 4 miles to the west of Nice city centre, and along the southern coastline of France. It is the third largest airport in the country, with around ten million passengers per annum. Besides Nice, the airport serves Monaco, Cannes, Antibes and St Tropez, and generally all areas in the Côte d’Azur. For this reason, the airport’s full name is the Nice Côte d’Azur Airport, and it has the official code of NCE. One of the best ways to travel the area is in a rented car, from a company such as National Nice Airport. National offers their customers a wide range of vehicles from which to choose, and the lowest rental rates possible.

The Nice French Airport consists of two terminal buildings, both of which are well equipped with a variety of facilities for their departing and arriving passengers, and the car hire companies are found on the arrival levels of the buildings. National has rental counters in Terminal 1 and Terminal 2, and are available between the hours of 07:00 and 23:30, Monday to Sunday. In Terminal 1, the rental counters are found just to the right of the information desk at gates A1/A2, and between the gates A2 and A3 in Terminal 2. The passenger buildings of the airport are located at quite a distance from one another, and therefore shuttle buses provide transport between the two areas. The buses also travel to the car parking lots. The rented cars of the Nice Airport car hire companies are found behind the parking area P5, in the ‘Car Rental Centre’. Cars from National are collected and delivered to the same parking area.

National is a car rental company that has provided excellent services for over fifty years, and has mainly focused their attention on the needs of frequent airport business travellers. National was the first company to introduce a comprehensive frequent renter program, by the name of Emerald Club, and also helped to pioneer the corporate account business. Members of Emerald Club today still enjoy a range of exclusive benefits from the company, and save money on many of their rentals from National. National’s vehicles are also of the highest quality, regularly checked for safety and only of the latest models, ensuring their customers receive a car that is in reliable mechanical condition. However, should a breakdown occur, roadside assistance will be provided, and another vehicle will be offered should it be necessary.

Vehicles from National, and those available from the majority of the Nice Airport car rental companies, are divided into various car groups, and are priced and booked accordingly. Those with lower rental rates are found in the Economy category, such as the Peugeot 207 1.4. These smaller cars are also light on fuel, and suitable in size for about five passengers. They come with many superb features, which include air conditioning, anti-lock brakes, power steering, power windows and locks and driver and passenger air bags. Vehicles in National’s Intermediate, Standard, Standard Wagon and Fullsize categories are perhaps more suitable for those with many luggage items to carry, and are similar to the Ford Mondeo 1.6 (with a multi-function steering wheel), VW Passat 1.8, Citroen C5 2.0 (with space for five luggage items) and the Audi A4 1,9, which is a car that runs on diesel fuel. Always ensure that you know which type of fuel to use for your rented car, in order to avoid unnecessary costs of having the engine cleaned.

Even larger vehicles from National include the Citroen Grand Picasso C4 2.0 and Citroen C8 2.0, both with room for up to seven passengers, as well as the Citroen Jumpy 2.2, for eight passengers. National one way hires can be arranged for the majority of vehicles for hire, and are a convenient option for customers who would rather not return to Nice Airport. This service allows the vehicle to be returned to a different rental location, other than Nice Airport. One way hires should be confirmed with National, and may be free of charge if delivered within the country of France.

Additional services from the majority of car hire companies are hand controls for disabled drivers, and the rental of additional items of equipment, which may include child seats and satellite navigation systems. A GPS unit is most useful for drivers who are unfamiliar with the road network in and around Nice, and usually come pre-programmed with thousands of points of interest. They are also of very high quality design, with many additional features that make finding any destination an easy task. For disabled drivers, National hand controls are available on certain types of automatic vehicles, and from Nice Airport, hand control equipment should always be reserved in advance. Services for disabled customers and drivers are free of charge.

The primary renter at National, Nice Airport, is required to be at least 21 years of age, and to have held a valid drivers license in his/her country of residence for a year prior to the rental date. A major credit card will also be required for payment, as debit cards are not accepted. The terms and conditions of hiring a vehicle can be requested in further detail from National, at Nice Airport.
