Alamo Car Rental at Dinard
Alamo Dinard Airport
Dinard Airport is found in the Ille-et-Vilaine department of France, and is nearby the towns of Dinard and Saint-Malo, along the northern coastline of Brittany. The airport is found in the commune of Pleurtuit, and is therefore commonly referred to as the Dinard-Pleurtuit Airport. It is also recognised by its official airport code of DNR. Flights arrive at Dinard Airport from Guernsey, East Midlands and London, and passengers on these flights can travel by taxi from the airport, or by rented car, from car hire companies such as Alamo Dinard Airport. Alamo is one of the most respected car rental companies in the world for leisure travel, and their wide range of vehicles ensures that the needs of all their customers are met. Alamo’s rental rates are reasonable as well.
Alamo, at this rental location, is open between the hours of 08:30 and 19:00 on Mondays and Tuesdays, from 08:30 to 22:30 on Wednesdays, from 08:30 to 22:00 on Thursdays and from 08:30 to 19:00 on Fridays and Saturdays. Alamo is also available for car rentals, collections and returns on Sundays, from 08:30 to 19:30. Since that Alamo is not open twenty-four hours a day, out-of-office hour returns may be possible to arrange, should they be required. All details regarding this service should be confirmed with Alamo. The terminal building of Dinard Airport is small and simple to find your way around. The Dinard Airport car hire companies are found in the main terminal area, nearby the arrival hall. All facilities at the airport are indicated by signage in English and French, and include an information desk, bar/restaurant, public telephones and lost luggage services.
Customers without a reservation can go directly to Alamo’s rental counters to arrange a vehicle. All customers will need to show a valid drivers license upon collection of the vehicle, which is printed in English. If in a non-Roman alphabet, an International Driving Permit will be required for translation of the local license. The drivers license should also have been held by the person in their country of residence for a year or longer prior to the rental date. At Dinard Airport, the primary renter, and all additional drivers listed on the rental agreement, should be at least 21 years of age, however, persons younger than 25 will pay higher rental rates. This is due to young drivers insurance added to each day of car hire, usually up until a maximum of ten rental days. At some car hire companies, a return airline ticket is required, and all companies will only accept payment by major credit card. Alamo accepts the cards of American Express, Eurocard, Mastercard, Visa and Diners Club.
Before leaving Dinard Airport, find out which type of fuel your rented car must use, and make sure you have the emergency contact numbers on hand, should you be involved in an accident or have a breakdown. Alamo provides twenty-four hour emergency roadside assistance for all their vehicles and customers. Cars which cannot be driven further due to accident or mechanical faults will be replaced by another. The car you receive should also be thoroughly checked for existing damages before you leave the airport. Customers may request advice on the workings of the vehicle from Alamo staff members as well. At the airport, Alamo’s vehicles are parked just outside the terminal building.
Upon return of the vehicle, it will once again be checked for damages, and any new ones recorded will be your responsibility, with the exception of reasonable wear and tear. The Dinard Airport car rental companies will also expect the vehicle to either be returned with an empty fuel tank, or a full tank of fuel, depending on the option chosen by the customer at the beginning of the rental period. Customers who have paid upfront for fuel may return the car empty, as no refunds are given for unused fuel, while those who have not purchased fuel, will need to return the vehicle as it was rented, with a full tank of fuel. Vehicles are returned to the same parking lot, unless an Alamo one way hire is arranged. From Dinard Airport, one way hires may be returned to any Alamo rental location in France, or even to a location in most other European countries.
Vehicles offered by Alamo may be of a smaller variety, such as the Peugeot 207 1.4 and Peugeot 308 1.6, or of a larger size more suitable for families with a couple of luggage items, such as the Ford Mondeo 1.6, Peugeot 3008 1.6, VW Passat 1.8 and Citroen C5 2.0. The Citroen is a Standard Wagon vehicle, able to store up to five luggage items. Fullsize cars from Alamo are similar to the Audi A4 1.9, while Vans are even larger vehicles, able to accommodate between seven and nine passengers. The Citroen C8, Citroen Grand Picasso C4 2.0 and Citroen Jumpy 2.2 are popular choices for groups of travellers. Although Alamo mainly focuses on the rental needs of leisure customers, business clients will find a number of more elegant vehicles available. These cars are hired from the Luxury category, and are similar to the Mercedes E250 2.5.
Other services available from this rental location include Alamo hand controls for disabled drivers, the rental of child seats or satellite navigation systems and the Alamo Quicksilver service. From Dinard Airport, hand controls are free of charge, but any other item hired will cost a few additional Euro per day of use. It is also recommended to reserve any item required in advance of your arrival at the airport.
