Avis Dinard Airport
Dinard Airport is a very small France Airport, located nearby the city of Saint-Malo on the northern coast of Brittany, and is approximately 5km, or 3.1 miles from Dinard. The airport is also referred to as the Dinard-Pleurtuit-Saint Malo Airport, due to its location, and serves the Ill-et-Vilaine department of France. It is allocated the official code of DNR, and Ryanair and Aurigny Air Services are the two airline companies found at the airport. Flights are offered to London and East Midlands, as well as to Guernsey. Arriving passengers can rent a car from Avis Dinard Airport. All Avis vehicles are hired with competitive car rental rates, and are suitable for travelling this region of the country.
Dinard Airport, handling only around 120,000 passengers per annum, has a small terminal building, with facilities to suit the needs of its customers. Although not as well equipped as larger airports, it has a restaurant/bar and lost luggage services, and is accessible to disabled passengers. It is also reasonably modern, and considered as an efficient airport establishment. The car hire companies of the airport are found in the main building, and Avis is open during the following hours: Monday and Tuesday – 09:00 to 12:00, and from 13:30 to 18:30, Wednesday – 09:00 to 12:00 and from 13:30 to 22:30, Thursday – 09:00 to 12:00 and from 13:30 to 22:00, and on Fridays and Saturdays from 09:00 to 12:00 and from 13:30 to 18:30. Since that public transport options from Dinard Airport are limited, a hire car could be the perfect option for all in need of a reliable way to travel.
The Dinard Airport car rental companies offer vehicles in all shapes and sizes, and from Avis, can be hired by anyone 21 years of age or older. The primary renter, and all additional drivers listed on the rental agreement, will also be required to have a valid drivers license, be present in person to collect the vehicle and to have a major credit card in their name. Avis will accept most licenses written in English, but always confirm if an International Driving Permit will be required for your rental. The license will also need to have been held for no less than a year prior to the rental date. Although 21 is the minimum age requirement, customers will need to be at least 25 in order to rent from the following categories: E (Full Size), F (Standard), G (Convertible), M, N and O (Vans). A young driver fee will also be applicable to all under the age of 25. Major credit cards accepted by Avis are American Express, Diners Club, Mastercard / Eurocard and Visa, except for Kyriel, Maestro, Indigo and Electron. Customers may use their Avis Charge Card as well.
Hired vehicles are recommended to be fully insured against accident or theft, however, insurances from Avis are optional. Anyone who would like to take out an insurance policy from Avis, such as Collision Damage Waiver or Theft Protection, can purchase the coverage locally in order to reduce, or even remove the insurance excess. Cars are also recommended to be hired in advance, in order to secure the best rental rates.
From the Dinard Airport car hire companies, and specifically Avis, cars with the cheapest rental rates are similar to the Renault Twingo, a Subcompact vehicle, and the Opel Corsa and Citroen C3 in the Economy car group. These are smaller cars, with space for between four and five passengers, as well as one or two luggage items. They are also manually driven, and come with air conditioning. Compact cars are popular choices for many passengers as well, while Intermediate and Standard vehicles are perhaps more suitable for families travelling with more luggage. They are similar to the Citroen C5, Mercedes Class C and the Citroen Grand Picasso C4, able to accommodate up to seven passengers. This car is available with an automatic transmission as well. Sometimes groups of travellers require something a bit larger, and therefore, Avis provides the Renault Traffic Combi, with room for nine.
Additional services from Avis include the rental of equipment such as child seats and satellite navigation systems, one way hires and hand controls for disabled drivers. All optional equipment, besides the Avis hand controls, are rented at an additional fee per day of car hire. From Dinard Airport, hand controls are free of charge, and available on certain types of automatic vehicles. A disabled person who is unable to drive may still be the primary renter at Avis, by allocating a designated driver with a valid drivers license. This driver may also be registered free of charge. Rented cars are returned to Dinard Airport, unless an Avis one way hire is arranged, which is a service permitting customers to leave their cars at another Avis rental location. This location can be within the country of France, or even in another European country. Dinard Airport one way hires could be more expensive than a normal rental, but price will depend on the car’s final destination.
Customers fond of Avis’ services can become Avis Preferred Members, and benefit from a range of exclusive time and money saving opportunities. This membership is available for occasional and frequent renters, and is free of charge. Most Avis rental locations offer pre-prepared paperwork, priority Avis Preferred counters, and will have their member’s vehicles parked in the most convenient spaces. Larger airport locations may allow their Avis Preferred members to collect their vehicle from a dedicated cabin in the car park, with the keys in the car, and therefore providing a way for the customer to bypass the rental counters.
