Europcar Car Rental at Dinard
Europcar Dinard Airport
Dinard Airport is located approximately 5km, or 3.1 miles south-southwest of Dinard, and in the commune of Pleurtuit, nearby the city of Saint-Malo. For this reason, the airport is officially known as the Dinard-Pleurtuit-Saint-Malo Airport, and is recognised by its airport code of DNR. It is a small France Airport, handling around 120,000 passengers per annum, but is fairly well equipped and offers efficient airport operations for its arriving and departing passengers. Although taxis at the airport can take passengers to any nearby destinations, many people prefer to rent a car, from one of the Dinard Airport car hire companies, such as Europcar. Europcar is one of the leading providers of car rental services in the world, and can offer their customers competitive rental rates.
At the Dinard Airport, there is a single terminal building, with a restaurant/bar in the public area, payphones, a lost luggage office and a general information desk. All facilities are within easy walking distance of one another, and easy to locate. Once passengers have collected their baggage, they will find Europcar Dinard Airport in the main hall of the terminal, and their rented cars in the car parking lot of the airport. Vehicles from Europcar can be hired directly over the rental counter, but are often recommended to be hired in advance, from one of the online resources which support Europcar vehicle reservations. The airport of Dinard is served by Ryanair and Aurigny Air Services, with flights to London, East Midlands and Guernsey, and is open at the following times: Monday, Tuesday and Saturday – 10:00 to 19:00, Wednesday – 11:00 to 22:45, Thursday – 10:00 to 22:00 and on Sundays from 10:00 to 20:00. Europcar is available to meet all arrival flights at the airport.
When collecting your car from Europcar, you will need to show a valid drivers license, and meet the minimum age requirements for this rental location, which is just eighteen years of age for all car groups. The car hire companies in France generally accept all driving licenses, provided that they are printed in English, however, it is best to confirm with Europcar if an International Driving Permit will be required for your rental. Although 18 is the minimum age for renting a car, drivers younger than 25 will pay additional costs for young drivers insurance. This is standard procedure from all car rental companies, and applicable to all underage drivers registered on the rental agreement. A major credit card, such as American Express, Diners Club, Eurocard, Mastercard or Visa, will be required for payment of the rental. Before leaving Dinard Airport, ensure that your rented car has been thoroughly checked for existing damages, that you know how to operate the vehicle and which type of fuel to use for the car, as it could run on petrol or diesel. You will also need the emergency numbers to contact should you be involved in an accident, or have a breakdown. The Dinard Airport car rental companies may also be able to provide child seats and satellite navigation systems for the vehicle hired, but these items will cost an additional few Euros per day of use.
Rented cars are returned once again upon expiry of the rental contract to the same parking area at the airport, unless a Europcar one way hire has been arranged, allowing the customer to deliver the vehicle to a different rental location. Hire cars can usually be driven to all parts of France, and even to other European countries, however, from Dinard Airport, one way hires returned to further locations may incur additional costs. When the rented car is returned, it will once again be inspected for damages, and compared to the report made at the beginning of the rental period.
Dinard Airport, like most other French airports, is able to welcome disabled passengers, with a variety of facilities to ensure their comfort. The airport building is completely accessible to passengers and visitors in wheelchairs, and further assistance can be arranged with the concerning airline company prior to departure. The car hire companies also offer various services for disabled drivers, and Europcar hand controls may be available from Dinard Airport. Hand controls are suitable for use by persons with a lower limb disability, as they are connected to the brake and accelerator pedals of the vehicle. The device, which is free of charge, should be reserved at least 48 hours prior to your arrival, as it can only be used on certain types of automatic vehicles.
Europcar’s range of smaller cars may be similar to the Renault Twingo, Peugeot 207, Volkswagen Polo and Renault Megane, while larger cars include the Renault Laguna and Renault Grand Scenic. Vans may also be available for seven or nine passengers, such as the Renault Espace and Renault Traffic Combi, while Mercedes models are offered as Premium or Luxury vehicles. Europcar’s vehicle quotes include all licenses and fees associated with the vehicle or rental location, the airport surcharge and VAT, and customers may choose to include certain types of insurances for their vehicle as well. Europcar may also be able to accommodate vehicle collections out-of-office hours, but this will result in a higher rental rate.
