National Dinard Airport

Dinard Airport has the official IATA code of DNR, and is a small French airport located in the northern parts of the country, nearby the towns of Dinard and Saint-Malo. It is also located in the commune of Pleurtuit, and is therefore officially known as the Dinard-Pleurtuit-Saint Malo Airport. The airport is served by the airline companies of Ryanair and Aurigny Air Service, and approximately 120,000 passengers make use of the facility each year. Although the terminal building is reasonably equipped, passengers have limited transport options available, and many consider a hire car to be the best way to travel. National Dinard Airport is the favourite choice of car rental company by a number of passengers, and National can be trusted to provide good quality vehicles at competitive rental rates.

Dinard Airport has facilities for arriving and departing passengers in one terminal building, and is very easy to navigate. The Dinard Airport car hire companies are found in the main area of the terminal, and their vehicles are parked in one of the car parking areas of the airport, within easy walking distance of the terminal. The airport’s opening hours are from 10:00 to 19:00, Monday, Tuesday and Saturday, from 11:00 to 22:45 on Wednesday, 10:00 to 22:00 on Thursday and from 10:00 to 20:00 on Sundays. The airport may also be open during other hours depending on flight schedules. National, at this location, is open during the following hours: Monday and Tuesday – 08:30 to 19:00, Wednesday – 08:30 to 22:30, Thursday – 08:30 to 22:00, Friday and Saturday – 08:30 to 19:00 and on Sundays from 08:30 to 19:30. Once your vehicle has been arranged/collected, National will provide the details on where it is parked.

In order to rent a car from National, customers will need to be at least 21 years of age, and have held a valid drivers license in their country of residence for a minimum period of one year prior to the rental date. National will also require the renter to have a major credit card. Drivers under the age of 25 usually pay higher rental rates than usual, as young drivers insurance is added to the agreement. Younger drivers may also not be permitted to hire from certain vehicle categories which contain larger or specialty car models. If your drivers license is printed in a non-Roman alphabet, an International Driving Permit may be required, for translation purposes. In this case, both the international and local license will need to be presented. Cars from Dinard Airport are advised to be booked in advance, as the rental rates for an early booking are often cheaper, and it is best to know that your ideal car is ready and waiting for your arrival.

Vehicle insurance from National is optional, but recommended. Customers can purchase collision damage waiver or theft protection for their vehicles. Included in the rental however, is usually third party liability insurance. Vehicles are also mostly hired with unlimited mileage, and twenty-four hour emergency roadside assistance. Always ensure that you have the emergency numbers to contact in the case of an accident or breakdown, prior to leaving the airport. Along with choosing the ideal car for your holiday or business trip, add any additional items of equipment needed for your journey, such as child seats, luggage racks or satellite navigation systems. These items are an additional expense, but are sometimes essential for safe and comfortable driving. A GPS is recommended for any traveller who is unfamiliar with the areas surrounding the airport.

Some of the cars available from the Dinard Airport car rental companies even include a navigation system in their rentals, and from National, they are found in the categories of Standard Wagon, Fullsize, Fullsize Wagon, Luxury, Van and SUV. The vehicles in these categories may be similar to the Citroen C5 2.0, Audi A4 1.9, Mercedes C200 CDI 2.0, Mercedes E250 2.5, Citroen Grand Picasso C4 2.0, Citroen C8 2.0 and the Citroen C-Crosser 2.2, as an SUV. These vehicles are all larger sized models, seating five or more passengers, and may come with excellent features, such as air conditioning, driver and passenger air bags, power locks and windows, power steering and folding rear seats. However, they are more expensive than smaller rental cars, such as the Peugeot 207 1.4 in the Economy category or the Peugeot 308 1.6 in the Compact Wagon category.

Dinard Airport is equipped to meet the needs of all disabled passengers, with reduced mobility challenges, or senior citizens who are in of assistance. National hand controls may also be available, for use by persons with a lower limb disability, and from Dinard Airport, hand controls are free of charge. Customers should however, reserve hand controls at least 48 hours before their arrival.
